…And We’re Off (Ali Show)
The official kickoff of the Class of 1979 40th year reunion started with a radio interview. It was truly exciting listening to The Community Digest Radio hosted by Abdul Ali, last Saturday. I’m sure those of my fellow classmates who tuned in to the show, would agree that we were well represented by the organization’s leadership team, both in St. Croix and from the US mainland via phone connection. Mr. Ali interviews the group in his normal animated manner. In the studio, were Jasmine Browne Johnson, Dona Browne Jones and Evelyn Pena Felix. The ladies were joined via phone by Gregory Georges and Lynton Scotland.
I got goosebumps that stemmed from the anticipation I felt as I listened to their discussion. They outlined our goals and the various activities which will precede our 40th year reunion, beginning with the reunion kickoff weekend activities. Everyone was encouraged to get connected and get involved in some aspect of the reunion planning and events. No doubt about it 79ers, WE’RE ON THE MOVE!!!
